A calm beach scene with gentle waves, featuring a clear sky and two birds on the sandy shore.

Journal entry for today, where do you feel most at peace? I have to say, for me, it’s when I’m close to the water. I can sit at the beach and watch the water for hours. Sometimes it’s nice to see things, like fish jumping, but other times it makes my problems and issues seem small. It helps me with perspective and always seems to calm the voices in my head for a time.

I know that water isn’t what makes everyone feel peaceful. Some people feel peace in nature. They can hike a trail and sit in a forest just listening to the noises around them. For others, it might be standing on the top of a building in the city, and still others it could be sitting in their living room surrounded by family. So what helps you feel at peace? If you need to, can you close your eyes and be in that place if you need to calm your mind?

Take some time and think about where you feel at peace. If you can’t think of anything, work on finding that place for you. It should be part of your work on our path. It’s definitely part of being happy, for life.
